This is us

Hey there!

We are Ale and Sara, the humans behind Doggizen. Dog-moms to Roberta (Schnauzer) and Carlota (Golden Retriever), the fluffy faces and protagonists of this company.

We met in 2007 back in college and have been best friends ever since. During our college days, we always talked about opening a business together but after graduation we found ourselves pursuing different career opportunities; Ale went to work in Adverting between Chicago and New York, while Sara went to work in Event Planning in Miami and Baltimore. 

In 2019 we found ourselves back in Miami as dog moms. We went back to discussing the dream of working together and having our own business. While we developed a business plan for another project we had in mind, we started to look for places in Miami to enjoy with our dogs and found ourselves with nothing to guide us with updated information. This is when we decided to open an Instagram account and share what we found along the way (as a personal account). Within a few months of us sharing our adventures, we ended up planning a real future for this beautiful project.

We have been exploring and sharing the dog-friendly side of Miami for a little over two years and now we feel it’s important to bring more detailed content to our community and that’s why we have officially decided to take the leap and launch this blog.

In this blog, you will find tips, recipes, inspiration, events and so much more. Our goal is to make the dog parent’s life easier, fun, and give you new creative ways to enjoy Miami with your dog. We want to continue to support local businesses and highlight the amazing services we have in our beautiful city. 

We are fully committed to this community and we believe that growing together is part of the success. We welcome all ideas, tips, and suggestions to grow this blog. In the end, it’s for all of us <3.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
